I wanted to dispel some myths particularly about what entrepreneurship
is not it is not having fun all the time yes you do have a lot of fun but it's an
equal number of extremely tough times as well
so it's not all fun and games don't do
entrepreneurship if you're just looking for an easy way out a quick win it is
not just an idea on the back of a napkin a idea is only
the beginning it's only 10% of the entrepreneurial journey this is
something that people make the mistake is I have the best idea and I'm not
going to tell anybody because it's top secret but guess what
the idea is nothing it's all about your execution of that idea that means you
should tell as many people as will listen to your idea about your idea
because that's when good things happen it's not about a degree having a
prestigious degree from a great University
good for you it certainly makes things easy if you want to get a regular job at
a good company for Entrepreneurship it doesn't really matter
half of the great entrepreneurs Steve Jobs Mark Zuckerberg
they're all college dropouts in actual fact you don't need any sort of degree
or fancy education in order to become a successful entrepreneur that's not to
say you don't need to read be informed learn all the time this is something
that entrepreneurs are very good at being able to understand and internalize
very different concepts and know directly how to apply those concepts to
the real world entrepreneurship is not a sprint
it's it is a race but the fastest person doesn't necessarily win I can list a
hundred different times where the follower actually
think about Microsoft was it the first computer company around no it wasn't it
was a follower and that was something that they used to their advantage
because they knew all the people to go to they knew why they were better and
their solution was better and of course built that into a billion dollar company
you don't need to be fast to be an entrepreneur you just have to be there
it's not about the money sounds easy to say but if your sole
focus in entrepreneurship is to make a lot of money you are not going to make
the decisions that are necessary the right decisions to please your customers
they will give you their money if you don't have a great product great service
the right marketing etc if your sole focus is on the money
you are not going to get the money so what is entrepreneurship
entrepreneurship is focus extreme focus on one or two things that could be the
product that could be the customer that could be marketing that could be
whatever your unique value proposition is focus focus focus finding out what
you're good at and what needs to be done
is the most important thing you can do for for becoming an entrepreneur
entrepreneurship is a movement it is what allows you to stay I am doing this
